April Wave Pool Session! *Club Registration Now Open*
It’s time again when we get together to play on the waves at the WEM Wavepool! For those who haven’t attended before, the event is open to paddlers of all skill levels. If you have only paddled in a standard pool, this is where you can test your skills in moving water which isn’t going to turn you blue!
BDP 2016 Application Now Open!
Application for the beginner development program (BDP) is now open! Due to high demand in past years, registration has been replaced with a brief application. The information from this application form, as well as factors such as attendance to club open sessions, roll clinics, and other paddling related courses and events will be be considered in the selection of participants.
The application deadline is April 12, however applicants are encouraged to apply before this deadline. Additional questions about the application and the program can be directed to the BDP Coordinator.

Winter General Meeting
It’s time again for our Winter Annual General Meeting. This year it will be held on Tuesday January 26 @ 6:00pm. The location is the usual Boston Pizza (4804 Calgary Trail NW). As always, this meeting is open to anyone and everyone and is an ideal opportunity, if you aren’t already a member, to come down, meet the community, and see what we’re all about.
Aquabatics Launches Online Instructional Video Series
The folks at Aquabatics Calgary have recently launched an online instructional series for kayaking! This will be aimed at beginners and intermediate paddlers alike. They will be uploading new videos every couple of weeks over the course of the winter. Make sure to subscribe to their channel or check back often for updates!

Changes to Our Bylaws
We’ve made some changes to the UAPS Bylaws. They are now easier to digest and more accurately reflect our current executive and the 21st century. Click the image above to view a pdf of the newly proposed Bylaws. Barring any objections from club members, we will be putting this into place at the next AGM (date TBA).
